Close Your Blinds!

A word to my neighbors…

CLOSE YOUR BLINDS!

I begin my day like many.  When I roll out of bed, I start the coffee, sit at the kitchen table, and read the Times.

A new building is being constructed across the street.  I glanced out the window at 8:30a today, noticed the activity of these two workers, and decided to grab my camera phone.

It’s quite hard to see in this fuzzy picture, but the man on the right hand side is holding what appears to be a pair of binoculars.  I can only imagine what or who he’s gawking at.

This activity has become a common occurance with workers of this building.  I once noticed guys on nearly every floor  looking in the same direction.  It was roughly 7:15a, so I imagine they were staring at a woman who didn’t realize she had an audience.

I didn’t realize this was such a problem, but window peepers like these two men hard at work are being put on alert in the State of Wisconsin.  A bill, Senate Bill 14 (“Peeping Tom Bill”), is awaiting signing by the governor.  The punishment for such activity is quite severe:

Senate Bill 14 establishes window peeping as a specific crime and may require the offender to register as a sex offender. In addition, the offense is classified as a sex crime, thus an offender may receive treatment.”  (click here to read more)

So neighbors…consider yourself warned.  Close your blinds unless you would like to be seen.  They’re watching!
